U.S. News and World Report recently ranked Sun Lakes, Arizona, as one of the best places to retire in the country.
U.S. News and World Report is only one of numerous media who have awarded and recognized Sun Lakes for its excellence and a top retirement community nationally.
U.S. News and World Report specifically mentioned Sun Lakes’ climate, geography, cultural attractions, recreation, and economy, saying: “Sun Lakes has dry, arid weather with high temperatures year round. The city features a quiet desert atmosphere about 20 miles from Phoenix. Sun Lakes is within close proximity to the Superstition Mountains, Tonto National Park, and ruins of Indian civilizations. Each of Sun Lakes’s [sic] . . . neighborhoods has its own golf course and clubhouse. Though most Sun Lakes residents are retirees, the nearby communities are a center for high-tech industry.”
Low crime rate, cost of living, and close proximity to excellent health care were also factors in naming Sun Lakes one of the best places to retire nationally.
Sun Lakes, Arizona is a master-planned retirement community and is composed of 5 different, but equally unique 55+ active adult and golf course communities. Sun Lakes is nationally recognized for providing residents with luxury, resort-style amenities, stunning landscaping, active adult neighbors, and a variety of beautiful model homes to choose from at affordable prices.
In addition to all of that, Sun Lakes’ residents have access to different activities, outings, and over 100 different clubs and organizations. Any day of the week there are numerous activities and events going on in Sun Lakes and nearby.
Nearby, the Phoenix area was recognized by the U.S. News and World Report as the #1 place “to buy a retirement home for under $600 a month.” According to U.S. News and World Report:
“With more than 200 golf courses, many miles of outdoor trails, and all sorts of museums and art galleries, the Phoenix area has long been an attractive retirement destination. Home prices in Phoenix doubled from 2002 to 2006, but dropped 51 percent as the real estate bubble deflated. The bust, however, has helped make the area’s real estate market more affordable for would-be retirement home buyers.”
